to Chalmers University Facilities

and Onsala Observatory

The ISSTT2019 participants are invited to the guided tours to the lab facilities in Chalmers University campus and, alternatively, to Onsala Observatory.

Please note, the both activities take place at the same time of the day and cannot be combined. In the other words, you need to choose which visit you would like to subscribe for.

Visiting Chalmers Campus Facilities.

The beginning of the tour is at 09:00, April 18, 2019
Meeting point address: MC2-building entrance, Kemivägen 9 -- Please, see the map below and here - for more navigation details).  For travelling with public transportation, check Västtrafik page for route planning and timetable. From Radisson Blu Riverside hotel, it is direct bus connection (buses 16 and 55, total travel time - ca. 30 minutes).

Please go inside and wait for the guides. The tours will be organized by forming groups of up to 12 people upon your group number in the Doodle-registration. Each group will visit three locations:

  • Chalmers Nanofabrication Laboratory (often referred as MC2 Clean Room Facility);

  • Kollberg Measurement Laboratory and Terahertz Laboratory;

  • GARD, Group for Advanced Receiver Development. 

The time in each location is approximately 45 - 50 minutes. The tours are planned to be finished by 12:30. Thereafter visitors may have lunch at the Café Canyon, the 4th floor, MC2 building (credit cards accepted).

Meeting point address: Radisson Blu Riverside hotel entrance -- Please, see the map below and here - for more navigation details).  For travelling with public transportation, check Västtrafik page for route planning and timetable.  Radisson Blue Riverside hotel is just next to the ISSTT2019 venue.

The visitors will take the bus to the Observatory. Travel time about 1 hour 20 minutes. The tour around Onsala Observatory will take about 1.5 - 2 hours. The visitors will be accompanied by Dr. R. Cumming who is the Onsala Observatory public outreach officer.

The bus will take visitors back to the center of the Gothenburg city by 13:00 - 14:00 (depending on the road situation) to location close to the airport bus stop.
